Barbara Geach, MEd
In her 30 year career with the City of Henderson, Barbara served in a variety of roles, most notably that of Neighborhood Services Manager, where she led the divisions of Code Enforcement, Grants, and Housing Programs. After becoming a trained mediator through the Clark County Neighborhood Justice Center, she identified the need for a community mediation program specifically for Henderson residents.
The result of Barbara's vision was the Henderson Mediation Program, which launched in 2012. Over the next few years, it grew exponentially and served hundreds of residents, decreasing the need for intervention by law enforcement and city regulatory departments. In 2014, Barbara and her staff shared their success at the Neighborhoods USA conference and were honored to receive the organization's Best Neighborhood Program Award.
Barbara holds a BA Degree in Speech Communication and a Master’s Degree in Education. She has been married to her husband for 20 years and between them they have four children and four grandchildren. Barbara enjoys hiking, kayaking, pickleball, and tennis. Her two dogs keep her busy with walks, obedience training, and fly ball. Barbara is active in her church, leading a women’s Bible study group, and recently returned from a mission trip to Kenya.
For over 17 years, Emily worked for the City of Henderson, primarily in the Neighborhood Services Division. After completing the Clark County Neighborhood Justice Center mediation training in 2013, she was tasked by her manager Barbara with creating a method of alternative dispute resolution specifically for Henderson residents. The resulting program assisted hundreds of residents and, at its peak, consisted of a team of over eight paid and volunteer mediators.
After retiring from the City of Henderson in 2019, Emily founded Veridian Wellness. This respected psychotherapy practice employs a multidisciplinary team of therapists, counselors, and support staff dedicated to delivering exceptional care to clients. She has continued to offer alternative dispute resolution services throughout this time.
In addition to her private practice at Veridian Wellness, Emily provides coaching to animal rights activists internationally. She is proud to serve on the City of Henderson Redevelopment Advisory Commission. When she is not working, Emily enjoys volunteering with animal advocacy groups, traveling, yoga, and eating vegan food. She is the mom of two humans and a rescue dog and a proud grandma of two amazing granddaughters.
